He will help maximize performance of athletes.

The LouCity and Racing Academy has appointed Josh Denton as its new academy sports performance director.

Denton arrives in Louisville after most recently working as both the strength and conditioning coach and director of soccer at D1 Training in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he developed training plans to maximize athlete performance while also coaching club soccer with the Knoxville Reds.

Denton earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from East Tennessee State University where he also played four years of college soccer. He currently holds his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification.

“We are excited to have Josh join the Academy," said Mario Sanchez head of the LouCity and Racing Academy. "His experience as a NCAA Div. I player and his certification and education in the sports performance field will provide a great resource for our entire academy program.”

"I'm excited to be a part of this amazing club and start a new chapter here in Louisville," Denton said. "The staff and players have been so welcoming and supportive of me from day one. I look forward to developing our athletes here and growing relationships with everyone I meet."

LouCity’s youth academy, established in 2020 along with the Racing Louisville FC program for girls, provides high-level playing opportunities for those in the U5 to U19 age groups. The academies operate with a vision to develop more professional, collegiate and national team players than any peer in the U.S.
